How2 Lose Weight Effectively

There are lots and lots of weight-loss tips written and published. Remember the basics ..
 
x Never skip breakfast (nor lunch/dinner)
x Drink lots of water
x Exercise regularly.. even if its walking for 30 minutes daily
x Avoid fats and sugars.
x Reduce sodium/salt intake as it causes water accumulation in the body
x No Junk foods
 
  • You need to ascertain your body mass index and whats average for your age before you start any regime so that you then have goal to set and a time frame. See: How2 Calculate your Body Mass Index (BMI)
  • Make your own weight loss plan & write it down. Write your goal to lose weight in big bold letters on a piece of paper and stick it somewhere you will see it daily. Also maintain a diary for your daily/weekly plan and keep updating it daily to track your status. Your plan should have a reasonable time frame, sample menus, exercise regime, small reachable goals to tick off before you finally reach your main goal i.e. to lose weight. Let your goal be specific, write down a particular body weight, or "to lose 'n' kilos", or "to fit size 12".
  • Follow a strict exercise regime. Cardio workouts such as the treadmill are effective.
  • If you have a sedentary lifestyle, try and change your lifestyle habits; be more active. Enjoy the great outdoors more often. Your aim should be to burn calories and so walking, running, skipping, jogging, aerobics, dancing; anything that increases your heart rate.
  • Its a good idea to restructure your diet and exercise needs. Eat healthy balanced meals. Learn the diet pyramid rules to stay fit. Or you can follow any one of the rigid weight-loss diets circulating the web, though I don't personally endorse them.
  • If after a couple of months of doing everything right, you still feel you haven't lost weight but increased; you should seek professional medical advice to ascertain if there are any underlying medical reasons.
