How2 Boost your Immunity

In order to boost immunity, I've found these very essential - and you may too.

Walking: is the most important to increase lymphatic circulation that is the key player in filtering bacteria and virus in blood and preventing illness.

Deep Breathing: It reduces stress and increases lymphatic circulation. Learn how to do the 'Pranayama' yoga.  (I will post instructions separately)

Dabur Chwawanprash: is a liver tonic and found in Indian food stores or buy online. 1tsp to be taken twice a day, preferably with milk.

Vitamin C Supplements: can be found in all health stores and pharmacies. You get chewable lozenges for children. Eat Vitamin C rich foods like oranges and lemons, amla (Indian gooseberry), kiwifruit, strawberry, guava, raspberry, blackberry, nectarines, peaches, mango, broccoli, tomato, potato, cabbage

Probiotics: are the good bacteria that support the immune system and the digestive system. Use live natural yogurt as a smoothie with Vitamin C rich fruits or have it plain with honey.

Echinacea:
! Consult with your pediatrician for children under the age of five. While this is a very safe herb, a child with allergies to daisies may have a reaction to the use of Echinacea.

Echinacea has natural immune-boosting properties that assist in fighting colds and flu. It is also an herbal antibiotic that may help prevent a secondary respiratory or sinus infection that may result from catching a cold or the flu. It comes in a number of forms, such as extracts, tablets, capsules, ointments and tincture. In fact, it can be called an immunity booster.

Carrot juice: is packed with vitamin A, vital for immune function and eye health as well as healthy skin. Carrots are very low in calories (the average sized carrot having about 30 calories) so they are a good addition if you are weight-watching too.

Zinc rich foods: Blackberries, red meat, beans, fish, eggs, some crackers and cereals. The mineral zinc is especially important for anyone with a weak immune system or who may already be fighting a disease such as cancer. Zinc is beneficial in increasing the number of infection fighting cells in our bodies.
